I am thinking of starting a long term project on the Belgian navy (have all the archives in Brussuels,Antwerp, Ghent,Ostende+ some in France and Holland)
The book would focus on the 1914-1945 + cold war eras.
It would be supplemented by the Flanders/Valois-Burghundian "navy"
The shipbuilding activities of Napoleon and the new large ship building facilities in the Scheld to invade The UK from Antwerp (this is post Trafalgar)
The small 1832 -1855 fleet, which intervented amongst others in the Mexican wars
The post WWI war fleet consisting mainly, up to 1928 of captured German channel type TB's.
The WWII navy using mainly British and US ships
Quite a lot of topics, but none of them is very elaborate...
Perhaps I'd better cut it up and publis it in intallments in Warship/Warship int. But that is an editorial descision to be made when most of the work is ready.
Main question is, and I take this community as a sample: would there be any interest in this ? (published in English ofc)
