The TDS insanity just keeps getting more unbelievable. When posed by the judge with a hypothetical question on whether the President can legally order an assassination of a political rival (using Seal Team Six as an example) and face no criminal charges following his term, Trump's brain-dead attorney responded in the affirmative. Just so long as Congress refuses to impeach him, which basically turns it into a strictly partisan decision. This sounds like a throwback to Nixon's infamous statement that a President could order legal murders and is above the law. Of course, the Constitution says nothing about impeachment first being required for post-term prosecutions, nor does it say anything about Presidential immunity. Probably because the Founding Fathers thought it was so blatantly obvious that in a democracy or republic no one is above the law that it didn't need to be spelled out. Presidential immunity is the very definition of despotism and dictatorship. Of course, that idea appeals to "dictator for a day" Trump.
What is especially idiotic about the Trump team's legal argument is that it can apply equally well to Biden and the Democrats. By Trump's insane illogic, Biden can order Seal Team Six to take out Trump or any other Republican rival with no legal consequences during or after his term, so long as there are enough Democrat votes in Congress to block impeachment. Hell, he can guarantee the Democrat acquittal votes by "legally" having Seal Team Six take out all Republican Congress members as well. Hey, if you guys are OK with that, it works for me.![🙄]()
