Would germany paradoxically be better off if the GF destroyed the HSF at Jutland?
The argument is if the HSF was eliminated, britain would be able to free up large amounts of men, ships and ship building capacity to deal with the inevitable Uboat campaign that would follow, making it more likely that the U.S. would be kept out of the war, which would enhance germany’s chances of being able to force France out of the war with her 1918 offensive, leaving britain without a major continental ally.
