The horrible future of computing :
Microsoft is moving towards PC subscription models:
The new "Windows 365 link" will have no (user accesible) local storage, no local applications installed (only a terminal version of windows) and is just a terminal to work on the Microsoft cloud.......
The future to come: monthly fee PCs......at the moment only for entreprise use, but consumer versions will be rolled out....
And then people wonder why I like to continue to run my legacy non subscription versions of various software....
And we thought win 11 was bad......
Microsoft plans to move win- 11 to the cloud:
""Move Windows 11 increasingly to the cloud: Build on Windows 365 to enable a full Windows operating system streamed from the cloud to any device. Use the power of the cloud and client to enable improved AI-powered services and full roaming of people's digital experience."

(BTW, HP is moving to subscription only printers...)
