Two of the most senseless and seemingly implausible decisions in naval history were Russia’s successive decisions to send the Baltic fleet around the southern periphery of Supercontinet of Euroasia and Africa to rescue a hopelessly trapped pacific fleet, and to keep the rescue voyage going after the would be rescuee had been eliminated by the Japanese. I think these two decisions actually could have gone either way.
What would the long term impact down through the first WWI era be if Russian naval power in the Baltic remained intact instead of being sent to annihilation against the Japanese?
