While in most books and websites, armor belt inclination of Nelson-class is usually given as 18°(or 72° from horizontal plane), the actual figure as shown in the following original plan is 15°(or 75° from horizontal plane).

However this book's data sheet still lists Nelson's belt as 14/13in/72°.DNC felt vindicated and the Board confirmed the O3 design. However, some changes were made. The belt was brought out to the side of the ship, to reduce any gap into which a shell might pass. Its slope was reduced from 18° to 15° slope for the same reason. The main deck was given a slight slope, as in G3 and the belt slightly reduced in height.
