Battleship Vs Battleship • The fate of CMB 123

This one is a bit of a long-shot, but here goes.

Friedmans new British Coastal Forces book relates on p75 that Thornycroft sold the 40' hull 1691 to the Royal Netherlands Navy in 1926.  Then on page 372 he lists CMB 123 (hull 1691) being sold to the Royal Netherlands Navy in 1928.

His list on page 372 appears to have been largely drawn from Dittmar, FJ & Colledge, JJ, 1972, British Warships 1914-1919, Ian Allen, London - a reference he cites elsewhere in his book, and similar lists from the same source can be found on numerous web-sites.  The information he provides on p75 appears to be new, and although he didn't cite a source, he had access to the Thornycroft records which would be a likely source for this.

Now the 40' motor boat that Hood carried on her Empire Cruise was also referred to as CMB 123.  There were contemporary news reports (e.g. British Squadron. Story of its C.M.B. Member of Navy's Mosquito Fleet. Thrilling War Record, Mercury, 15 March 1924, p14) that this was an ex-WW1 vessel, however Colledge, JJ, Warlow, B & Bush, S, 2020, Ships of the Royal Navy, 5th Edition, Pen & Sword Maritime, Barnsley, state on page 83 that a second CMB 123 was built in 1923/1924 - specially for HMS Hood on the World Cruise.  But I haven't found this second boat mentioned anywhere else (other than earlier editions of the Colledge et al book).

I don't have a lot of good sources on the Netherlands Navy, but none of the books or websites I have looked at make any mention of this vessel (the Netherlands did order four other new-build CMBs from Thornycroft in 1927-28, but these were 55 footers (TM1 - TM4)).

So my questions are:

If the Netherlands did buy CMB 123, was it the WW1 one, or the one built in 1923/24 (if indeed there ever was a new one), did they buy it in 1926 or 1928, what did they call it, and what eventually became of it?

Who did they buy it from - Thornycroft or the British Government?  (and if it was Thornycroft, when/how did it revert to Thornycroft ownership, since it was presumably delivered and operated by the RN when new?)

If anyone is able to shed any light on this, I would be incredibly grateful.

Best regards

David
