Battleship Vs Battleship • WWI Maritime Misconceptions

Recently perusing the Queen Mary wikipedia page, I came across this statement in the introduction.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Queen_Mary

Like most of the modern British battlecruisers, the ship never left the North Sea during the war.

Unreferenced opinion of course, but some people seem to think that is the purpose of Wikipedia, a futile attempt to immortalise your own opinion, but I digress.

Ok, slight reservations about what is meant by “Modern”, but of the “battlecruisers,” of the British Empire, fully 5/10, that is 4/6 I type, 1/4 Cat type were deployed overseas in the first twelve months of the War, including the Med (3 ships), Atlantic and Caribbean (1 ship), Falkland Islands (3 ships) and Pacific (1 ship), obviously with some ships seeing multiple overseas theatres.

Inflexible must be the champion of overseas deployments, starting in the Mediterranean in Aug, going home late in the month, Falklands deployment Nov-Dec, poked her nose into the Pacific before Gibraltar and refit. Then Dardanelles including damage and refit and returned home in June 15.
