https://www.navy.gov.au/sites/default/f ... rt_1_0.pdf

For example

RENOWN was in action against the SCHARNH0RST and HIPPER off the Norwegian coast when she sustained two and possibly three direct hits from shell One 11 inch shell perforated the main leg of the foremast and passed overboard without detonating® Another 11 inch shell struck aft on the starboard side plating, between the upper and main decks, passed across the ship and out through the port side without detonating
Fighting Efficiency - Not impaired,
REMARKS
The value of the tripod mast was indicated.

A quick look and I came up with this.

German Fuses

Exeter 7 11” hits 6 detonated.
Ajax 1 11” hit mild explosion.
Renown 2 11” hits no detonation.
Berwick 4 8” hits 2 detonated
Prince of Wales 3 15” hits 1 detonation
4  8” hits  1 detonation 1 partial detonation
Duke of York 1 11” hit 1 5.9’ hit no detonation
Norfolk 2 11” hits  1 detonation

The 11" hits on Exeter and Ajax came from the ADMIRAL GRAF SPEE and I think this was a different shell and fuse.

Whilst perusing German Steel Armour Piercing Projectiles And Theory of Penetration, mainly AFV related, however, I came across this.

As far as I know Krupp made naval shell.
