Wilmington Water Level Trend since 1935:
The area is basically a salt water marsh. I visited her in 1971 and the access road was raised in several places to keep it out of the water even at that time. One of the guides told us that the road often flooded. Since that time, the water level has increased about 0.20 meters (~8 inches). Since the installation of the gauge in 1935, level has risen about 0.30 meters (~12 inches).
