Three different meanings for non cementated armor plate (KNC, NCA or xNC):
as per R.N.:
often refers to full armor grade, homogenious plate.
as per U.S.N.:
non-cementated armor refers to face hardened armor without the ultra-hard, surface cementation layer but frequently with very deep depth of chill
as per K.M.:
Normally hardened, Krupp face hardened armor (with cementation layer, albeit thinner), usual 34% depth of chill, not unlike K-2 grade KC/a.A. The term KNC was used to discriminate against deeply hardened KC/n.A. plate appearing in the mid 1920´s.
