Does it pass the common sense test? Why not send conscripts to NATO soil to train on safe areas in modern training areas free from attacks? We are talking a bus/train ride away here.
Are NATO nations already cognizant there are something like 650,000 Ukrainian Draft Dodgers in the EU according to BBC reporting? Do they fear potential waves of Political Asylum seekers overwhelming their systems already overwhelmed by immigrants?
Is this a cynical ploy to incrementally provoke Russia after Jens Stoltenberg said Ukraine would be welcomed in NATO?
With reports of abuse by Recruitment officials and Police already reported by the Kyiv Independent; it is clear many Ukrainians do not trust Zelensky operating as a defacto King. And the desire for elections are not a smart thing to blow off. Ukraine has already deployed everyone who wants to fight; and now needs 500-600K more troops. How exactly do they intend to get anyone willing to fight when the Ukrainian dead are not even acknowledged or admitted to. Much less compensated for.
I think NATO has just totally glossed right over these issues of accountability being totally blind what the cumulative effect would be. Hell Ukraine still have not addressed terms of service. And getting killed does not even get your carcass sent home at this point. This will lose this war.
