Naval Weapons • Using the Mark VIII aviation compasses in WWII

I have not found definitive instructions about the capabilities and usage of the Mark VIII aviation compass. Mainly, this was installed in Douglass SBDs and Avengers, exclusively - as far as I can tell.

- was it adjustable?
- was it correctible for error, if determined?

Did those planes carry a secondary compass?

Installed in an SBD.
