When Joe Biden entered office, some taxpayers were worried. Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk ridiculed the Biden administration for spending more than $42 billion while failing to provide high-speed internet to any home or business after three years.
The Washington Times reported the abject failure of the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment program, which was supposed to provide internet to rural communities. The BEAD program was a part of President Joe Biden’s $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that was passed in Nov. 2021…
“There hasn’t been a single shovel’s worth of dirt that has even been turned towards connecting people,” said Federal Communications Commissioner Brendan Carr. Musk blasted Biden’s failure, calling it “an outrageous waste” of tax dollars. Musk owns Starlink, a company that provides high-speed satellite Internet to the far corners of the globe, so he knows a thing or two about providing Internet access to difficult places. Of course, Biden didn’t seek his help in this project and according to one post, for $42 billion, the government could have bought Starlink dishes for 140 million people—far more than those in rural areas.
42 Billion spent and not one citizen helped. I'm sure though that Democrat contributors made band with environmental impact studies.
